Pencil Pointers

 As I was looking through back to school crafts, I came across these cute pencil pointers, and I just had to post them! They are so cute, and would be so easy to make!  Use them as a pointer when reading with your kids, or make it just for fun.. 
Supplies
  • Jumbo Popsicle sticks
  • Yellow Acrylic paint
  • Pink Acrylic Paint
  • Black Sharpie
  • Paint brush

Step 1: Paint the Popsicle stick yellow, leaving 1 inch at the top without paint.
Step 2: Paint the bottom of the pencil (1 inch) pink to make the eraser
Step 3: Using your black sharpie, draw the pencil tip on the top of the Popsicle stick (the part without paint)


PictureSchool has started, and everyone is trying to get used to the school schedule again. Reward your kids for working hard with chocolate covered apple pretzels!

Supplies

  • Patterned Paper
  • Ribbon
  • Letters (to spell out desired name)
  • Glue
  • Embellishments (optional)
  • Scissors

Step 1: Trace cover of notebook onto patterned paper

Step 2: Cut out traced paper
Step 3: Glue patterned paper to the cover of the notebook
Step 4: Decorate cover with ribbon and embellishments
Step 5: Add Name to the front cover

Decorative Clothespin

Supplies:
  • Clothespin
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Pen 
  • Patterned paper
Step 1: Trace the top of the clothespin onto a piece of patterned paper
Step 2: Cut out the shape you traced
Step 3: Glue strip of paper onto the top of the clothespin

*You can also use these as refrigerator magnets, just glue a magnet to the back of the clothespin*

Paint Sampler Bookmark

Supplies
  • 2 paint samples
  • Gluestick
  • Ribbon 
  • Hole punch 
  • Ribbon
  • Letter punch
Step 1: Using your letter punch, punch desired letter in the bottom of the paint sampler
Step 2: Glue both paint samplers together (make sure colored part is on the outside)
Step 3: Using your hole punch, punch a circle in the top of your bookmark
Step 4: Thread ribbon through the hole, and tie at the bottom

Starting of a new school year

The starting of the school year is just around the corner! This is an exciting time for parents and students! Make the best of the new school year by making fun crafts that get your kids excited for school!

Notebook shirt

Supplies: 
  • White T-shirt 
  • Red fabric paint
  • blue fabric paint 
  • cardboard 
  • foam brush 
  • Folder
Step 1: Put cardboard on the inside of the shirt, so the paint does not seep through to the other side
Step 2:  brush  blue paint on the folded part of your folder
Step 3: Using the folder as a stamp, press down painted part of your folder *horizontally* down onto your shirt *this should make the first line*Step 4: Repeat step number 3 until you have desired number of lines on your shirt.
Step 5: Using your foam brush, line the folded part of your folder with red paint
Step 6: Press down the painted side of your folder *vertically* down on your shirt. *this should make the margin line on the left side of the paper*
Step 7: Let your shirt dry

  • Terra Cotta bottom
  • brown Baking Clay
  • red acrylic paint 
  • fake leaf 
  • hot glue gun 
Step 1: Paint pot and bottom of pot red with acrylic paint
Step 2: form a brown stem with baking clay *make sure the bottom of the stem is flat, so it will glue easily to the lid of your pot*
Step 3: follow baking instruction on clay package, and bake clay stem
Step 3: glue the stem to the pot using hot glue gun
Step 4 glue fake leaf to stem
